This a good example of Engineered Oak Parquet Flooring and the process of laying it. The Client opted for a Character grade floor with a Natural finish and Matt oil. These blocks are 70 mm wide and 350 mm long with a total thickness of 21mm. The top layer of European Oak is 6mm thick. The client preferred to have a “borderless” floor so it looks as if the parquet is running under the walls.

The Oak Parquet flooring was laid in the hallway and living room but in this case the existing pine boards were not level enough to lay the engineered oak parquet directly on top. We decided to use a Self-Leveling Compound to make the sub-floor absolutely flat and avoid any future issues with the new floor. After the Levelling Compound had set we were able to cut the skirting boards to allow the new Oak Parquet floor to fit perfectly without the need for any beading or trim.
